After the untimely death of frontman Chester Bennington earlier this year, Linkin Park has shared a photo of their first rehearsal back together. Four months after Bennington took his own life, the band is preparing to honor him with a tribute concert later this month featuring Blink 182, Bring Me The Horizon, and many other bands.
Two weeks before that sure-to-be-emotional event, LP bassist Dave ‘Phoenix’ Farrell shared a photo on Instagram of the band rehearsing, with the caption, “Home from the #dunhilllinks and back to “work!” Good to be back with the guys.”
Recently, Linkin Park rapper/guitarist Mike Shinoda paid tribute to the late singer in a radio interview. “He was such a happy guy, he was such a fun guy,” said Shinoda before he discussed the goal of the tribute concert. "When he’d walk in the room, there was such a positive, funny, upbeat energy, and that’s what we wanna get out of this show… I know it’s gonna be a roller coaster of emotion. But when we talk about this and we’re focusing on the show, it’s really about, like we say, celebrating life.”
The sold-out tribute concert will take place on Oct. 27 at Hollywood Bowl in California.
