Jimmy Tamborello Remixes Death Cab For Cutie's "Summer Years": Listen

It's been more than 15 years since The Postal Service released its debut (and only) album, Give Up. And though we probably won't be seeing another collection of songs from Ben Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello and Jenny Lewiselectro-indie project any time soon (if ever), fans of the outfit now have the next best thing: a Tamborello remix of a Death Cab For Cutie song.

On Tuesday (December 4), Gibbard's band shared the producer's rendering of "Summer Years" off their latest album, Thank You For Today, and it's everything fans of The Postal Service could ever hope for. Tamborello injects an icy beat to the song, reminiscent to his signature production on Give Up, and robotizes Gibbard's voice in parts of the song, giving it an industrial feel while still staying true to the song's ethos.

Listen to the remix below.
