Shinedown has lit up the music world once again with the release of their latest single, "Killing Fields." The track marks the band's third release of 2025 and arrives just in time for their high-octane summer tour across North America.

In a statement, Shinedown frontman Brent Smith explained of the new song, "'Killing Fields' is not a song that has one specific meaning. The subject matter in this song cannot be prioritized to one specific opinion. The audience is the BOSS, and they should have the freedom to interpret it the way they hear it, feel it, and experience it. What I will say is that the song is meant to push you, to inspire you to think for yourself, and ask questions... We all know we are living in complicated times... The true question is, how will you respond."

Musically, the track unfolds with a slow, atmospheric build that crescendos into a thunderous, anthemic chorus. And, lyrically, the band delivers a sharp snapshot of modern turmoil with lines like, "We’re not sick but we’re not well, we’re just toxic twins on a carousel."

"Killing Fields" follows the band's earlier 2025 singles, "Three Six Five" and "Dance, Kid, Dance," both released earlier this year in January. Together, the trio of tracks hints at a broader creative vision and evolution in sound, building anticipation for Shinedown's upcoming eighth studio album, expected to be announced later this year.

Fans will get to hear "Killing Fields" live starting July 19th at TD Garden in Boston. The summer tour features a powerhouse lineup, with Bush and Morgan Wade joining as supporting acts. Major stops include Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 20th and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on August 3rd.
